Homemade explosives go off at Puyallup school
PUYALLUP, Wash. — No one was injured when two explosives went off at Ballou Junior High in Puyallup (pew-AL’-up).
School District spokeswoman Karen Hansen says the blasts about 10 a.m. occurred in a commons area and a boys’ bathroom.
The Tacoma News Tribune reports students were evacuated while Pierce County sheriff’s deputies searched the building. Then, students were allowed to return.
KIRO-TV reports that one device was a bottle filled with dry ice that was thrown into a toilet.
